A large crowd of over two hundred people attended a peaceful protest in the town of Apple Valley on June 3, 2020 in support of Black Lives Matter and George Floyd.

With temperatures nearing 100 degrees for most of the day the group stayed until the early hours of the evening to spread their message.

The chants of, “Black Lives Matter,” “Say his name, George Floyd,” and “No justice, no peace,” could be heard roaring above the sounds of traffic along Bear Valley Rd.

Though a police helicopter was overhead to keep an eye on the situation, police presence was at a minimum with an occasional patrol done by officers to ensure safety. Apple Valley Police Department kept a watchful eye from a distance.

Two members of the Double 6 Ranch in Apple Valley, Ty Nitti and Apache Ray came out with their horses Tango and Cowboy to show their support for the cause.

“We wanted to show our support for our community and show that we care.” Nitti Said.

A separate group of protesters was present yesterday and strongly insisted they were not counter protesters and were simply concerned about possible property damage.
